How to root Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos GT-I9082 and install CWM recovery

   Samsung  Grand Duos is a dual core 1.2 Ghz dual sim capable smartphone making a high impact in smartphone market. Though it appears to be the same as couple of other Samsung devices like Note II, S3 etc Grand does not contains all the features of its big brothers.
    As already known to upgrade your device to custom ROMs and apply the available tweaks you need to have root access.



To Get started with rooting your device follow the steps below.
Disclaimer :-  If you are not sure and not confident on what you are going to do next then beware
you are on your own. I will not be responsible if you bricked your handset following this procedure incorrectly.

Recovery

  1. Extract the package on your desktop, you will get the files namely Update- SuperSU.zip, odin.zip
  2. Once you have all these files on your computer you need Samsung USB Drivers, and USB data cable for connecting your device to computer.
  3. If you cant find Samsung USB driver install them using kies or download here.
  4. Once you have Samsung driver installed on your computer, Go to the settings menu on your device and then to developer options and then check enable USB debugging.
  5. Now Copy the file Update-Superuser.zip to your devices SD-Card.
  6. Switch off the phone. Now get your device in downloading mode using following key combination     press Volume Down + Home+ Power On keys simultaneously.
  7. You should see following screen.
  8. Press Volume Up key to continue booting into downloading mode
  9. Once you have booted in downloading mode open the Odin.exe and connect the phone to USB cable.The COM port in ODIN should be turned yellow as shown in below screenshot.
  10. The yellow color indicates that your device is identified and connected.
  11. Now make sure that F. Reset Time is checked, Auto Reboot is checked PDA is ticked.All other boxes should be unchecked.
  12. Now click the PDA button and browse for the file recovery.tar you will find this file in Rooting package (Recovery) you extracted above.
  13. Click on start. Let ODIN complete the flashing process. Don't interrupt the process. A green bar will tell you the progress of the operation. When the green box in Odin window shows "Pass", your phone will start a reboot.
  14. Once your phone is rebooted turn it off again and boot into recovery mode using key combination Volume Up+ Home+ Power On .
  15. Now you should be into CWM recovery mode now to root your phone select install zip from Sd card-> Choose zip from SD card.

    Now locate the supersu.zip file you earlier stored on your SDCard and select install.
    Once the zip is completely installed select option reboot the device, and check for the SuperSU app on your device once its booted up, you can also check the root access using the root checker application from play store


    Note:- You will observe a yellow triangle while rebooting your device,
               this is the result of rooting and upgrading to custom kernel,
               there is a count(custom binary count) which increases after every binary download you do on your device
