Forgot Password or Pattern..How to reset password of your android device


                       It may happen sometime that, you forget the password or pattern you had 
applied to your Android device for security purpose.
                   The immediate option for you is to click on Forget Pattern or Password respectively and  log in with the Google account with which your device is registered
and then follow the steps to reset your password / pattern,

                     Above option will only work if you have Internet active on your device.
If there is no way your device can be connected to internet then grab your balls,
Now there is the final option for you to reset the device to factory settings using recovery mode. Follow the steps below.
Note:- Factory reset will wipe all user data which means you will loose all your Contacts,messages, applications installed.
  1. Switch Off your device
  2. Get your device in recovery mode by pressing key combination  (Power + Home + Volume Up)
  3. Note :- The combination may vary according to your device, If you are not aware the Combination for your device google it.
  4. Once you are in recovery mode you can see various options select wipe data/factory reset , navigate to this option using volume rocker keys touch screen doesn't work in recovery mode select the option using home key
  5. Once you select the option to factory reset you are done
  6. Now select the option reboot device now when the device reboots you will get is to factory reset mode as you got first time and you need to configure all the details again.
If it is critical for you to have your apps or contacts to be backed up before you actually do factory reset then you need to have custom recovery like CWM.

  Once you have custom recovery follow the below steps

  1. First reboot in recovery mode (CWM)and take the nandroid back up of your system 
  2. Once back up is completed, select the option wipe data and factory reset
  3. After resetting you need to reboot and set up the device as you did at first Power on of your device when purchased.
  4. Now to get back all your contacts and applications back you have two options, either restore them using ROM manager or configure your device to connect to internet after rebooting and restoring the back up
  5. now reboot in recovery go to back up and restore and then restore the nandroid back up you earlier had.
  6. After successful restoration reboot the phone now you must have the internet connected then you can reset your password and enjoy.
