CWM (clockwordmod) recovery is a custom recovery which enables you to do a lot of tasks that are not available with stock recovery. These options include mounting/unmounting system, data, cache, USB storage. Taking nandroid backup of your current existing system, restoring a previously taken backup, and lots more.
One more important thing I would like you to note is if you are looking for a custom ROM to be get installed on your android device you must have CWM first.
Now get your S duos CWM file from this rooting kit refer to this link for rooting your S Duos and follow the procedure mentioned there for first installing the recovery on your S duos. If you have gone through the link mentioned above you will come to know that the CWM recovery you installed is temporary and to make it permanent Follow the below procedure.
- The reason you will lost the CWM recovery after reboot is that, when system reboots it will overwrite the CWM recovery file with stock recovery
- Now if you want the CWM recovery permanent for your device you have to stop this overwriting.
- For this go to location /etc through any Root Browser and locate install-recovery.sh file there rename it to install-recovery.sh.bak
- once this is done now repeat the steps 4-16 mentioned in this link
- Now you dont need to remove battery.
