How to choose the correct smartphone between Qualcomm and Mediatek processors

Now a days smartphone industry is booming and growing fast, there are plenty of options available for customers to choose from.
At the beginning  of this Smartphone revolution there was only one company known for providing the processor for the smartphones ans we all know that's Quallcom.
During recent times there are few more companies which showed their interest in making the processor of smartphones, to name a few like MediaTek, Intel, AMD etc..

Out of these MediaTek is standing tall and according to technogeeks its considered to be a toughest competition to Quallcom.
Many of the newborn mobile companies like Micromax Karbonn, Lava, ball, panasonic  prefer to power their smartphones with MediaTek processors.
The reason being its the only cheap and powerful alternative available in market for Quallcom.

Bottom line is How should you decide on the smartphone based on the processing power the smartphone company provides.
For an example we can consider two handsets Micromax Canvas Turbo and Samsung Galaxy S 4 both these devices have few of techincal features common like RAM is 2 GB in both Camera is 13 MP etc.
But when it is concerned about the power of processing the Samsung offers slightly high power which is not that much worth if you check the price tag of both the devices. Samsung is almost twice in price than Micromax

Samsung Galaxy S4 sports two processor of Quallcomn
Quad-core 1.6 GHz Cortex-A15 & quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A7 (One set active at one time) Where as the Micromax Canvas sports 1.5 GHz, Quad Core, MediaTek MT 6589T Processor.
Considering the processing power if you are kind of person which spends a lot of time with his/hers smartphone for doing every possible task over smartphone you would like to go for Galaxy S4 rather than Canvas Turbo.
On counter measures if you need your smartphone to complete a daily routine work you usually do or you can say for day to day use with highest power of processing and considering budget you should go for Canvas Turbo.

The scenario mentioned above will entirely get a U turn if we change the Samsung Galaxy S4 with Galaxy S4 mini.
For S4 mini it has a 1.7 GHz dual core processor which is 2 cores less ans 200Mhz fast than canvas turbo but still considering the other technical specification and the price tag anyone would go for Canvas turbo.

Having said all these facts we can decide on the smartphones on below points.

  1. The processor it is using (QuallCom, MediaTek,Intel,AMD etc)
  2. Available in built memory
  3. RAM
  4. Seperate unit for graphics and images processing(GPU,DIP etc)

1. Processor:-
First of all I want to make it clear that  the beliefs people have like "any phone that uses Quallcom is great and the one that MediaTek or other processor as primary chipset is dumb" is completely bullshit.
Before you decide on the above assumption please have a thorough knowledge of  the processor.
Its not like that the Quallcom is good and MediaTek is bad.
All of the processors follow the same electronic process of construction for details you can refer to this site

2. In Built Memory :-
This is the most important part to look for after the processing power. As most of the functions of your smartphone will utilize the inbuilt memory like installing apps and others make sure you have a plenty of inbuilt memory.

3. RAM:-

The concept of RAM as it applies in computers applies here too.
The more you have RAM the fastest the phone function. The point to note here is the performance of the phone is not solely depend on the Processor the most vital part in performance is RAM, it behaves slightly different in smartphones. That means even if you have 1GHZ Dual core processor but not the minimum RAM to handle this capacity which is 1GB you'll tend to see your phone lagging.

4. Separate Processing Unit:-

This is also a deciding factor while choosing the smartphone, As we name it a Smartphone we should expect it to produce much more clearer pictures and images and graphics for Game lovers. For all these tasks there should be a dedicated unit called GPU(Graphical Processing Unit). Some of the smartphones even has the exta DIP chipset to ensure the clarity and quality of Pictures and Images.
